DBasia.news –  According to Gianfranco Zola, Chelsea’s assistant manager, Maurizio Sarri needed time to adapt to the club and have askes fans to be patient with him. Zola exemplified Sarri like Pep Guardiola.

Maurizio Sarri began to be cornered after a series of negative results. Moreover, Chelsea were beaten by Manchester City 6-0 in the Premier League match. It was the Blues’ biggest defeat in the last 28 years in the Premier League.

Some British media began to bring up a number of replacement candidates for Maurizio Sarri. However, Zola stressed that Chelsea supporters need to be patient.

“How do you know that we have made changes? We adjust a number of things without changing the direction we want to go. The direction is always the same,” Zola said as quoted by Soccerway.

“Two years ago you might ask Pep Guardiola the same question. I remember you asking, ‘is that the case you keep playing from behind’.”

Pep Guardiola did have difficulties at the beginning of his career in England. The manager failed to win the Premier League title. However, in the second season, Guardiola led Manchester City to win the Premier League.

“I remember Guardiola’s answer. He said, ‘this is not in the discussion, this is part of my game. I know that I will go through a difficult time, I don’t change it’,” Zola concluded.
