Maurizio Sarri’s response to the Protests of the Chelsea Fans

By news-admin

DBasia.news –  Chelsea were beaten in the FA Cup five round by Manchester City with a score of 0-2 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday (19/2) early morning Western Indonesian Time, through goals created by Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba. In the match, Maurizio Sarri was ridiculed by Chelsea fans.

Just like against Manchester City, Chelsea’s game tends to be monotonous, has the ball but doesn’t often penetrate, and defenses are fragile. It’s natural if fans are getting frustrated to see it.

After the game ended and became United’s first win at Stamford Bridge since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Chelsea fans scoffed at Chelsea’s media style with the term “Sarriball”. They were also frustrated because Sarri played the same player again and again.

Uniquely, Sarri remains calm and respond casually in the interview session after the game ends. In fact, the 60-year-old manager looked at him trivially, with his conviction to win the hearts of fans if Chelsea won the game in a row.

“I am more worried about the results, not fans. I can understand the situation and our fans because the results are not good. We were eliminated from the FA Cup, so I can understand them. But, I am more worried now about the final results,” Sarri was quoted by Goal.

“This (winning the hearts of Chelsea fans) is very easy. If we can win three or four matches in a row, then it will be very easy. It’s difficult to win five matches in a row,” he continued.

Not only worried about protests by Chelsea fans, the threat of dismissal, given the tradition of Chelsea in the era of Roman Abramovich, was also responded casually by the 60-year-old man. The most important thing for Sarri is to prepare his team for the next match.

“This (rumors of dismissal) is none of my business. My problem is to start (prepare) the game the next day and work with my players to try and develop in the next few days,” added Sarri.

“More determination, aggressiveness, because we conceded the second goal without determination or aggressiveness. I was worried when I was in League Two in Italy, but not now,” he concluded.

In the next match, Chelsea will host Malmo in the last 32 of Europa League second leg on Friday (22/2) at 3:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, before fighting Manchester City in the 2018-19 League Cup final on Sunday (24/2) at 23.30 Western Indonesian Time.
