Message to Erling Haaland

DBasia.news – The message for Erling Haaland was given directly by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after seeing his move to Manchester City.

Solskjaer does have a fairly close relationship with Haaland. The former Manchester United manager was even credited with honing the striker’s goal sense when he started his career at Molde.

Solskjaer even tried to bring Haaland to Old Trafford in early 2020. However, Haaland chose to move to Borussia Dortmund.

That moment in fact did not make the relationship between Solskjaer and Haaland damaged. The two still communicate frequently and maintain hope for a reunion at Old Trafford.

But Solskjaer then had to accept the fact that he left the Manchester United manager’s chair in November last year. This indirectly reduces Haaland’s chances of moving there.

Haaland did eventually move to Manchester. But he chose to accept Manchester City’s offer and follow in his father’s footsteps.

Solskjaer was quick to learn of Haaland’s move to Manchester City. He also sent a message of support that is quite eccentric.

“When I signed for City he congratulated me and wrote me a message saying ‘Good luck for going to the wrong side of Manchester’,” Haaland said.

“As you know, he had a huge impact on my career when I was at Molde. He’s a good guy.”

The joining of Haaland to Manchester City did make Solskjaer’s feelings mixed. On the one hand he is happy because his former team’s career is growing, but on the other hand this is certainly bad news for Manchester United.

Even though he is no longer a manager, Solskjaer’s love for Manchester United cannot be doubted. His heart will certainly be divided when watching the Manchester Derby next season.
