DBasia.news – Owen has a strong reason on why he prefers Liverpool. Based on statistics, the former England national team player predicts that Liverpool will be stronger than Manchester United who will play in the ninth week of the 2019-2020 Premier Legue, at Old Trafford Stadium, Sunday (10/20).
The prestigious match will be presented in the continuing Premier League match later this weekend. Although both clubs have a considerable distance in the standings, however, Man United’s rivalry against Liverpool still has magic. Moreover, both teams have a long story of rivalry.
Michael Owen, who has played at Liverpool and Manchester United, thinks the performance of the Red Devils this season is far from great. Meanwhile, Liverpool are more convincing even though in the last few games they had been rather shaky.
“Manchester United have only won two of the last 13 matches. The barometer, Harry Maguire grazed the ball more than other Man United players in the penalty box (four) when they traveled to the headquarters of Newcastle United,” said Owen as reported by Metro.
“Meanwhile, Liverpool will equal Manchester City’s 18 consecutive wins when they reach full points at Old Trafford,” he added.
“Jurgen Klopp’s troops are on a row in recent weeks. However, I hope they have the pressure and speed to attack Manchester United,” continued Owen.
Michael Owen revealed, Manchester United hopes to play many player who have recovered from injury. Nevertheless, Owen still hopes the Reds can handle it. Manchester United reportedly was unable to play their flagship goalkeeper, David de Gea, in the match against Liverpool. The former Atletico Madrid player suffered a hamstring injury when appearing in the Spanish national team match against Sweden.
