Mikel Arteta Warns Arsenal Players about Liverpool

DBasia.news – Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is reluctant to be complacent about the positive trend against Liverpool. This he revealed before visiting Liverpool headquarters in the third week of the Premier League, the highest caste of the Premier League, the 2020-2021 season.

Liverpool and Arsenal will clash in week three of the Premier League which takes place at Anfield on Tuesday (29/09) at 02.00 WIB. The momentum of the two teams is at its best at the start of the 2020-21 season.

Arsenal and Liverpool both swept the match with victories in the last three matches in all competitions. Even Arsenal in the last two meetings beat Liverpool in the Premier League last season and the Community Shield.

Although Arsenal are considered to be able to win because Liverpool have won last season, plus they are not serious in the Community Shield, Arsenal deserve to be praised for their success in defeating the Premier League champions.

Arteta also shared the recipe for Arsenal’s success in beating Liverpool twice in a row. Individual performance, luck, consistency and an unyielding character are the four keys to beating Liverpool.

“First of all, you need individual performances from all the players. You need a certain kind of luck, that’s for sure, at times of the game, “said Arteta quoted from Goal.

“And then you have to be very consistent in everything you do for 96 minutes because any moment they can open you up and you can be exposed.”

“Never give up, that’s another thing that is very crucial to them. And you have to wish them to be the best. If you always expect that then the level of attention is higher, the focus is higher and then you are more determined on every ball. Against them that’s key.”

Despite explaining this theory, Arteta is realistic about Arsenal and Liverpool’s level of play According to the Spanish manager, Liverpool’s level of play is different because it has a winning character that is formed from the culture brought by Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff.

“I don’t see a game dropping (from Liverpool). They go anywhere, even when they are 2-0 up, 3-0 up, 4-0 up, and they still play the same way,” added Arteta.

“This is a tremendous tribute to the coaching team, the culture they created, and that team spirit. You can see that in the 24 or 26 players they have in the squad.”

“There is not a single player who plays half-way on a match day, who is not very interested or only plays for moments in the game. They just do it, every minute of every game. All season doing that for 10 months, that’s a compliment which is very big in my opinion.”

“It’s a different level. They have done it in the Premier League and Champions League too. And that’s why they raise the bar so high. Not only them, Manchester City too in the last few years. That’s the level and you have to be able to compete at that level because of that. this is our context and this is our reality,” explained Arteta.
