Mikel Arteta’s Confidence Remains High Despite Arsenal’s Threat of Sacking

DBasia.news – Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shown high self-confidence even though his team is currently in a bad condition. The Spanish national is sure that he is still the right man for the Gunners.

Arsenal must be defeated by a score of 1-2 when they visit Everton’s headquarters at Goodison Park, Sunday (20/12). It was their eighth defeat in the Premier League this season.

No wonder Arsenal have fallen to the bottom of the table. Willian and his friends sit in 15th place with 14 points from 14 matches.

This fact certainly tarnished Arsenal’s image as a big club. It’s no wonder that the pressure to fire Arteta starts to pour in.

Arteta is not unaware of that. But he chose to focus on getting his team back on the right track.

“My energy and focus is only on getting the team out of this situation, keeping the team spirit and struggle that the players show every time they go out on the pitch. You can see that and can not deny it,” said Arteta quoted by Goal.

“Obviously, again, these results are not good enough and that is unacceptable for Arsenal standards and this is the challenge and the fight we have.”

Arteta does have the capital to remain optimistic. Last season he was able to bring Arsenal out of difficult times and ended it with an FA Cup trophy.

It seems that this also makes Arsenal officials still patient. They certainly don’t want to take a wrong step that can actually make the situation worse.

“It is a very complicated situation, but I am very encouraged from what I have seen with the players to continue to do what we are trying to do,” he concluded.
