DBasia.news – AC Milan successfully displaced Inter Milan from third place in Serie A after winning a narrow 1-0 victory over Sassuolo on Sunday (3/3) WIB. That result did not make Gennaro Gattuso, Milan coach, thrilled with the performance shown by his foster children.
Milan did get full points, Gattuso consideres the performance displayed by Krzysztof Piatek and colleagues was not good enough. The Italian coach saw that Milan had no difficulty in creating an attack. In fact, even though Sassuolo played with 10 people, Milan still failed to score additional goals.
Gattuso also gave an ultimatum to the players to not be careless with the third position achieved by Milan at this time. Because the competition is still far ahead and various things may occur. What’s more, Milan are only one point ahead of Inter who are in fourth position. Therefore, Gattuso sees 12 matches remaining in this season’s Serie A as final.
“I will take this result, but we have to do better. I don’t want to hear about fatigue, we need to understand why we have difficulty playing as we want. We are having a hard time fighting an organized team, the team that plays good football, “said Gattuso, as adapted from Sky Sports.
“We did well when we survived, but we had to do better when we had the ball. Now we will have 12 final matches to play. Because if we continue to play like this, we will find it difficult to win. What we do is not enough. Not surprisingly, some players play below their standards. They spend a lot of energy during this season, but that should not be a reason, “he said.
