DBasia.news – Inter Milan is facing the duel against AC Milan in the 2021-2022 Serie A continuation with optimism. The Nerazzurri are unphased even though their potential opponent is now seven points clear in the standings.
Milan will play as host in the match titled Derby della Madonnina which will take place at the San Siro, Monday (8/11) at 02.45 WIB. The Rossoneri certainly want to take advantage of this status to win.
Milan’s opportunity to defeat Inter is quite open. Stefano Pioli’s side proved to be better than their city rivals at the start of the season.
Milan did appear almost perfect in the first eleven weeks of Serie A. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his team mates won ten matches and the remaining one ended in a draw.
Only Napoli incised something similar. While Inter, who sits in third place, have only won seven wins, three draws and one loss.
Even so, Inter did not seem bothered by these statistics. La Beneamata striker, Joaquin Correa confirmed his ambition to make the derby match as a momentum for revival.
“Winning will change everything and show that we can be protagonists. However, it’s too early to judge, we have to stay close to the top,” Correa told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Obviously no one feels inferior to Milan because we have a great mentality. We will face the derby without fear.”
Correa was not affected by Milan’s brilliant results at the start of this season. According to him, the title race will still be fierce until the end of the season.
Correa is also well aware of Inter’s status as defending champions. He is determined to bring his new club to defend the Scudetto that was won last season.
“Milan did nothing wrong, so they deserve credit. We made some mistakes and some episodes didn’t go our way,” he added.
“We dropped some points. But we can’t feel sorry for ourselves, because we had a good season.”
The victory over Milan can indeed be Inter’s momentum to rise. An additional three points in this match can also bring Simone Inzaghi’s team closer to the top of the standings.
