Milan Won Thanks to Gattuso’s Strategy

DBasia.news – AC Milan finally gained the victory in Serie A. After the failures, Milan achieved three points following the 4-1 winning against Sassuolo.
Milan’s victory was achieved without the presence of their main striker in that match. Using the 4-3-3 format, Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso played with the false nine format or fake striker.
Milan placed Samu Castillejo along with Hakan Calhanoglu and Suso in the front line. Consequently, Milan scored four goals by Franck Kessie, two goals from Suso, and Samu Castillejo.
Milan won’t place Gonzalo Higuain due to the injury, meanwhile, Patrick Cutrone wasn’t fully recovered since the beginning of the match.
“At this moment, our defensive movements aren’t as good and it’s not just about the defenders, but the protective shield and going too deep. That is our weakness. We don’t press the opposition on the edge of the area, just sit back as a shield and don’t go towards them,” Gattuso said.

“We had four or five through balls that caused us a lot of problems, but we know that is something we have to improve on. The team does many good things and this result can help us gain confidence in everything we’re working on,” he continued.
Besides Castillejo, another player who played great against Sassuolo was Suso. The Spanish wing striker ended his goal drought after 19 Serie A matches and the last time he scored the goal on February 4.
“Suso? In order to complete his growth process, Suso has to get to know Higuain better, he must give the ball that he gave against Atalanta more often. If he cuts inside slightly less, he can be like Insigne at Napoli. Suso can score goals because he has that in his locker,” Gattuso concluded.
