Mo Salah is still helping Liverpool score goals

DBasia.news – Liverpool still have a mainstay in Darwin Nunez to get through the 2022-2023 season. But it turns out that Mohamed Salah will still be the mainstay of Jurgen Klopp’s team to score goals.
Liverpool are willing to spend around 75 million euros to bring Nunez from Benfica. This fantastic value certainly shows the quality of the attacker.
Nunez has answered expectations after bringing Liverpool to the Community Shield title after beating Manchester City with a score of 3-1. He contributed one goal in the match.
No wonder Nunez is predicted to be Liverpool’s new goal machine. The Uruguayan national player is even predicted to be included in the top scorer market.
Even so, Klopp expressed a different view. He still believes in the sharpness of Salah, who last season was the Premier League’s top scorer with Son Heung-min.
“I think Mo (Salah)’s biggest motivation is to win games and score goals. But I don’t think he thinks too much about the other players or how often they score,” Klopp said.
“He probably only thought about it in May when he expected to score 34 or 35 goals and his two competitors had 32 goals.”
Salah has immediately transformed into Liverpool’s goal machine since signing from AS Roma in the summer of 2017. His confidence in front of the opponent’s goal continues to increase over time.
Klopp believes Salah is still able to maintain his performance. Moreover, the Egyptian player has extended his contract.
“Of course it’s much better than if his contract runs out next summer. But Mo will be the same person, I’m 100% sure he can rule that out.”
