DBasia.news – Africa can be proud when the 2018-19 Premier League is finished. Because three African players received personal awards after Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City won two consecutive Premier League titles.
The Golden Boot award or the Premier League’s top scorer this season is given to three players from Africa. All three have scored 22 goals, namely: Sadio Mane-Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal).
Mane added two goals when helping Liverpool win 2-0 over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. Mane’s two goals were created thanks to an assist presented by the English right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Following in the footsteps of the Senegalese striker, Aubameyang. Gabonese bomber scored twice when Arsenal won 3-1 over Burnley at Turf Moor. One goal took advantage of Burnley’s back line, while another goal when receiving feedback from Alex Iwobi.
Another Arsenal goal was scored by Eddie Nketiah and Burnley narrowed the gap from a goal scored by Ashley Barnes. Arsenal ended the season in fifth place and still have the chance to play in the Champions League if they win the Europa League final against Chelsea.
While Mo Salah didn’t score in the match against Wolves. However, the wing striker from Egypt had incised 22 goals before week 38 of the Premier League. Mo Salah, Mane, and Aubameyang shared the title of the 2018-19 Premier League Golden Boot award.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker also won the 2018-19 Premier League Best Goalkeeper with 21 clean sheets in the Premier League. The Brazilian goalkeeper defeated his compatriot, Ederson Moraes, at Manchester City.
