By db-admin
DBasia.news Real Madrid did not encounter significant difficulties in the process of extending the contract for midfielder, Luka Modric. This is in contrast when El Real negotiated with Sergio Ramos.
It is reported that Real Madrid only has to release an official statement regarding Modric’s contract extension. Previously, the 35 year old player’s tenure would end this season.
Real Madrid believes that the Croatian midfielder’s role is still very much needed. Modric’s experience and playing vision has allowed Zinedine Zidane to carry out his tactics.
The proof is the playing opportunity that Modric has. Even though he is no longer young, the former Tottenham Hotspur player has appeared in 34 matches in various competitions. Modric packed four goals plus four assists on this occasion.
The smooth process of contract extension is also inseparable from Modric’s desire to continue with Madrid. The player decided to stay after previously being rumored of moving.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Modric will extend his contract for one season. Other reports say Modric’s salary will drop by 15%.
The decline in income is understandable. Currently, Real Madrid is trying to get out of the financial crisis due to the corona virus pandemic.
Unlike Sergio Ramos
A different view occured in the case of Sergio Ramos. So far, Madrid and the captain have not found an agreement. In fact, Ramos’ contract will also end this season.
According to developing news, Real Madrid does not agree with the salary amount requested by Ramos. On the other hand, Ramos considers the amount tp be reasonable with what has been given so far.
Real Madrid is rumored to be bringing in David Alaba to replace Sergio Ramos. Meanwhile, Ramos has been linked with several clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and AC Milan.
