DBasia.news – The Reds defeated The Red Devils in the following week of the English Premier League 2022/23, at Anfield.
Without hesitation, the Reds sank the League Cup winners this season with seven goals without reply at their own home.
Liverpool’s goal celebration was recorded by Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, who each scored two goals. While one additional goal came from Roberto Firmino.
For Salah, this is a new record. The brace scored by the Egyptian player made him enter Liverpool’s record scorer in the history of the English Premier League.
“I can’t lie, it feels really special. This record has been in my mind since I came here,” said Salah, who earlier this week became the second Liverpool player after Ian Rush who scored 20 goals for the sixth successive season.
“I think after my first season [when he won the Golden Boot with an incredible 32 league goals] I was always chasing that record,” he continued to Sky Sports.
What feels extraordinary again is that Salah recorded this record of 129 goals when he met Man United. “To beat it today against United in an incredible result.”
