Morata: Chelsea Lucky to Have Jorginho

By news-admin

DBasia.news – Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata felt lucky to play in the same team with Jorginho. According to Morata, Jorginho will make The Blues dominate the central line.

Chelsea won the hunt ahead of Manchester City. Both of the teams wanted to get Jorginho from Napoli.

Actually, Jorginho almost joined Manchester City. However, the player changed his mind ahead of the transfer and chose Chelsea.

The reason is probably due to Maurizio Sarri, his former coach in Chelsea. Sarri replaced Antonio Conte who was fired.

Alvaro Morata supported Jorginho’s arrival, who once played together in Juventus. Morata assumed Jorginho will strengthen the central line of Chelsea.

“We are lucky. We’ve made a very good signing, because he’s a fantastic player, a fantastic guy and because Manchester City wanted him!” Alvaro Morata said.

“It would have been very bad for us if City has taken him. He was one of the best signings of the last year for Chelsea because now when we have the ball, he is the key.”

“Jorginho and Cesc Fabregas with the ball are two of the best midfielders around,” Alvaro Morata continued.

Chelsea got Jorginho from Napoli with 57 million euro price tag (Rp995 billion). The 26-year-old player is in contract until June 30, 2023.
