DBasia.news –  Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi are two of the many Barcelona icons. Many want to recruit them. According to Massimo Moratti, former President of Inter Milan, his former club also had the desire to recruit Iniesta and Messi.

The story began when Inter Milan monitored Messi and Iniesta who at the time was still young. However, Nerazzurri’s steps came to a halt due to several causes.

“The purchase failed? It was Iniesta. I met with Barcelona’s management, we have economic and persuasive power,” Moratti said as Calciomercato reported.

“I spoke about many players when I mentioned Iniesta’s name. I could offer anything and it would be in vain, they would never sell him,” Moratti said.

Meanwhile, in the case of Lionel Messi, Inter Milan refused to bring the player after seeing Barcelona’s attitude. Inter feels that Blaugrana and La Pulga have a strong relationship.

“Lionel Messi? We started watching him at the U-18 World Cup. Talent scouts returned and told about Barcelona’s health problems and commitments, about the dedication in completing all of that,” Moratti said.

“I said to leave Messi behind. I swear, they take care of Messi like father to his son.”

Massimo Moratti became one of the most successful presidents at Inter Milan. The Italian tycoon once brought La Beneamata to win the treble in 2010.
