Mourinho is disappointed with AS Roma’s inconsistency

DBasia.news – AS Roma did win, but it was not enough for Jose Mourinho. The Giallorossi’s inconsistent appearance in the match has frustrated him.
AS Roma won 3-2 during the visit to CSKA Sofia headquarters at Vasil Levski Stadium, Friday (10/12/2021) morning, WIB. I Lupi went three goals ahead through Tammy Abraham’s goals and one from Borja Mayoral.
But they then conceded by Hamza Catakovic and Yannick Wildschut in the last 15 minutes. The inability of Roma to maintain the advantage and use it to get more advantage was regretted by Jose Mourinho.
The only thing that excites him is that apart from Roma winning, elsewhere Bodo/Glimt drew 1-1 with Zorya Luhansk. That led Roma to finish as winners of Group C and qualify directly for the top 16.
“We can’t keep creating problems for ourselves. It’s impossible for us to be 2-0 up for 45 minutes, then repeatedly lose the ball and defend too deep,” Jose Mourinho told Sky Sport Italia as quoted by Football Italia.
“The two goals that went into our net are unacceptable. I’m just happy because we won and Zorya did their job, but yeah that’s all that makes me happy tonight,” he added.
For Mourinho, qualifying directly for the top 16 is a big blessing for Roma as they do not have a good squad depth to play two extra parties in the play-offs.
As is known, the group stage runners-up will face teams that were knocked out of the Europa League in the play-off round to qualify for the top 16.
“We don’t have a squad to play the extra two games. We are lucky, because the extra round will really be something we don’t need,” added Mourinho.
