Nagelsmann Strong Candidate to Replace Mourinho at Tottenham

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The decline in Tottenham Hotspur’s performance further heated up the issue of club manager Jose Mourinho’s dismissal. The position of the manager with the nickname The Special One is in danger of being fired if Tottenham’s performance does not improve.

In the last five games in all competitions Tottenham have won two against West Bromwich Albion (2-0) and Wolfsberg (4-1), while the other three have lost against Everton (4-5), Manchester City (0-3) and West. Ham United (1-2).

The position of Tottenham, which previously topped the Premier League standings, is now slowly falling and has moved away from the top four, aka the Champions League zone. Harry Kane et al are now in ninth place in the standings with 36 points.

There is no doubt that Mourinho, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in 2019, threatened to be fired. According to The Telegraph, Mourinho has four games left to save his career at the club.

The four matches followed the match against Wolfsberg in the second leg of the Europa League last 32, namely against Burnley (28/02), Fulham (05/03), Crystal Palace (08/03), and Arsenal (14/03). All games are Premier League matches.

Still from the same source, if Tottenham’s performance does not improve, Mourinho’s career at the club could end. If the club sack him they have prepared a replacement, namely the 33-year-old manager, Julian Nagelsmann.

The German coach is currently managing RB Leipzig and is considered to be one of the tactical mixers with great prospects for success in Europe. In Germany Nagelsmann is well known for his modern and effective coaching methods.

Evidence can be seen from Leipzig who consistently compete in the top Bundesliga and consistently play in the Champions League. Tottenham see him as an ideal candidate to coach a club with a youth vision and development.

Currently in the Tottenham squad there are many talents developed by Pochettino and Mourinho such as Son Heung-min, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Davinson Sanchez, and other players. Tottenham is the ideal place for Nagelsmann to develop his playing ideas.
