New Contracts Are Not Ivan Perisic’s Priority
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Croatian winger Ivan Perisic is reluctant to rule out extending his tenure with Inter Milan. However, Perisic insists a new contract is not his main priority at this time.
Ivan Perisic was a key player for Inter Milan when they won the Scudetto last season. Despite appearing not in his original position, Perisic played well on Inter’s left flank. Perisic is equally good at defending and attacking.
This season, Perisic has gone through 16 games. Of these, the former Bayern Munich collected three goals and two assists.
Perisic’s consistent appearance made fans urge Inter to immediately extend the player’s contract. Understandably, Perisic’s tenure will end at the end of this season.
On the other hand, Perisic’s 32-year-old age is also a consideration for Inter Milan. Moreover, La Beneamata also needs to save on expenses.
Transfer market expert from Italy, Nicolo Schira, reports Inter will have a meeting before Christmas. This time was chosen because Inter did not want the situation to complicate because Perisic has the right to communicate with other clubs in January 2022.
Inter will pay a salary of 3.5 to 4 million euros per season with a contract duration until 2024. Currently, Perisic earns 5 million euros per season.
Perisic insists he is open to all possibilities, including extending the contract. Reportedly, the Croatian national team player also received offers from the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
“I have to focus on the moment. We spoke with the club and I don’t know what will happen. Everything is possible,” Perisic said.
“We will see in the next few weeks and also have to focus until January. That also works for the future.”
