Neymar Wants to Play with Lionel Messi, PSG President Responds

DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi does not wat to be involved in the debate over the potential for Lionel Messi and Neymar to be in one team at the Parc des Princes.
In the middle of this week, Neymar made an outspoken comment after inspiring PSG’s 3-1 win over Manchester United in the Champions League. He admits that he wants to reunite with Messi next year.
These comments certainly heated up the transfer rumors of the two players who were teammates at Barcelona from 2013 to 2017.
PSG now looks more likely to recruit Messi than the other way around. The reason is, Messi’s contract at Barcelona will expire at the end of this season so that he can be transferred for free.
Being able to bring Messi to Paris would be a sensational achievement for Les Parisiens. However, PSG president Al-Khelaifi did not want to be involved in these talks.
“Messi is a Barcelona player. I can’t talk about him,” Al-Khelaifi said in a French television program, Touche Pas a Mon Post.
Al-Khelaifi’s diplomatic statement differs 180 degrees from Neymar’s.
“What I want the most is to play with Messi once again. I want to play with him. I will let him play in my position if he wants,” Neymar told ESPN.
“Next year, we both have to play together.”
Messi, who has won the Ballon d’Or six times, has yet to show any signs of extending his contract at Barca. Even last summer, Messi planned to leave but it was nevertheless carried out.
At the start of the 2020/21 season, Messi had scored seven goals in 12 appearances, while Neymar was able to score six goals in ten games.
