Nigel Pearson Becomes Watford’s Third Manager

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Nigel Pearson was officially announced as Watford’s new manager, making him the third person to hold the position this season.

Pearson replaced Quique Sanchez Flores who was dismissed in early December after less than three months before Watford also laid off Javi Gracia.

Watford announced Pearson was under contract until the end of the 2019/20 season.

However, the contract might not be fulfilled until the validity period expires considering Quique Flores was also initially bound by the contract until the end of the season but was dismissed when he had not been in office for three months.

Pearson was chosen partly thanks to his experience of successfully avoiding Leicester City from the threat of relegation in 2014/15 thanks to seven wins in the last nine matches.

“Nigel is an impressive coach who comes with a wealth of experience and success that we believe can have a positive impact on our season,” said Watford CEO, Scott Duxbury.
