Nigel Winterburn Curious with Arsenal
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Nigel Winterburn as an Arsenal legend judged his former team to be less precise in choosing a defender.
Arsenal are experiencing a crisis at the back. That was after a number of defenders of The Gunners appeared inconsistently and several players were injured.
Latest, Arsenal lost Calum Chambers due to injuries. The knee injury that befell Chambers is expected to be severe enough for Mikel Arteta to look for a new defender.
As a result, Arsenal were linked with Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng. Previously, they had brought in an experienced defender, David Luiz, from Chelsea in the summer.
These conditions are opposed by the legendary Arsenal defender, Nigel Winterburn. According to Winterburn, the Gunners had to find the right player in a short amount of time.
“Problems at the Arsenal center back position have occurred in three or four seasons. However, I feel the manager must judge which is more important to be improved,” said Nigel Winterburn.
“How much money can he use? Can he recruit the right players in January? That is challenging to do in a very short time. To be honest I am not sure Arsenal will bring in players.”
“To be honest I never considered David Luiz as Arsenal’s main target last summer. In my opinion, Arsenal doesn’t have to purchase experienced players and use the money well,” he added.
Aside from Jerome Boateng, there are other Bundesliga players targeted by Arsenal. The Gunners have long been eyeing RB Leipzig defender, Dayot Upamecano.
