Norwich City, Watford, and Bournemouth Are Relegated from the English League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The last week of the English League on Sunday (25/7) was decisive for the three teams that would accompany Norwich City to be relegated to the second caste.
The competition to avoid the relegation zone indeed lasted until the last week. Aston Villa, which were in a better position than Watford and Bournemouth, did able to make the most of it.
Dean Smith’s team were indeed only able to draw 1-1 with West Ham United. However, one additional point is enough to secure their position in rank 17 which is a safe limit from degradation.
It was not separated from the defeat of Watford from Arsenal with a score of 2-3. Before the last week rolled in, the two teams both packed 34 points.
The draw achieved by Aston Villa also automatically buried Bournemouth’s dream of survival. Even though Eddie Howe’s team had performed heroically after defeating Everton at Goodison Park 3-1.
An additional three points only made Bournemouth move up one place to rank 18. But that position still makes them relegated.
Bournemouth must end their work for five seasons appearing in the highest caste. As is known, they made history with the first promotion to the Premier League in 2015 ago.
Meanwhile, the two teams that are guaranteed promoting to the Premier League next season are Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion. One remaining ticket will be contested by four clubs which are Swansea City, Brentford, Fulham, and Cardiff City through the play-offs.
