Not Wanting to Lose in Competition, Olivier Giroud Commemorates Tammy Abraham

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Olivier Giroud did not want to lose to compete for a place to play at Chelsea. Giroud even sent a warning to Tammy Abraham that he would not give up fighting over a place to play.

Olivier Giroud’s position at Chelsea was replaced in the 2019-2020 season. Previously as the main attacker, now Giroud has been sidelined to the bench.

That was after Chelsea’s new manager, Frank Lampard, prefered Tammy Abraham as the main striker. There are a number of reasons Lampard chose Abraham.

First, Tammy Abraham is a Chelsea football academy graduate. In addition, the British player is 10 years younger than Olivier Giroud.

Olivier Giroud also claimed he would fight for a place in Chelsea’s main team. The French player is ready to compete with Tammy Abraham.

“Of course Tammy Abraham will not keep me on the bench. I have a target in my head,” Olivier Giroud said when defending the French national team.

“I’m at Chelsea to help a new generation, but I don’t intend to retire. I still feel hungry and have a lot of ambition. I certainly don’t want to be Chelsea’s number two striker.”

“At Chelsea, I am like a big brother to young players. However, that does not mean I will just sit on the bench,” he added.

Throughout the 2019-2020 season, Olivier Giroud only collected 101 minutes with Chelsea. Unfortunately Giroud hasn’t scored a single goal for the Blues.
