Odriozola Glad Zidane Returned to Train Real Madrid

DBasia.news –  Alvaro Odriozola, Real Madrid right-back, also commented on Zinedine Zidane’s comeback as team coach. Odriozola believes the return of Zidane should win the trophy for Madrid.

Zidane has coached Madrid in the first period from 2016 to 2018. Within a relatively short period of time, Zizou, with his lack of training experience, was able to present a La Liga title and three consecutive Champions League trophies.

Odriozola just arrived this season from Real Sociedad to not feel that historic moment. However, it did not change his opinion regarding Santiago Bernabeu’s living legend.

“When Zidane coaches you, then you practice (play) with clear prejudice. As I have said, I always admire him. Seeing him playing first is very beautiful,” Odriozola said, quoted from Goal.

“As a coach what I love is the closeness with players. I think right now, when everything in the world of football has developed, it’s the most important thing a coach can contribute.”

“With the closeness he does to keep all players motivated. Zizou always says the truth. I really appreciate that honesty. For fans, his return revives hope. His return in practice is like winning titles. We are very thrilled,” explained the Spanish player.

Odriozola, 23, was also surprised that Madrid re-appointed Zidane as the club’s third coach this season after Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari. But because of his great love for Madrid, Zidane found it difficult to refuse offers from the club.

“It’s surprising, yes. But, I think everyone thinks if Madrid comes looking, then he can’t refuse them because he’s a big fan of Madrid,” added Odriozola.

“It is true that we all gave 100 percent (ability) to convince Zizoi. It was clear that it was part of our motivation to play well in the last 10 games. Not only in matches, in fact, in training sessions too,” he concluded.
