Often Make Mistakes, Arsenal Legend Confused the Club Still Defend David Luiz

DBasia.news – Arsenal legend Ray Parlor admitted he was confused by The Gunners’ decision who still retain Brazilian defender David Luiz. According to him Luiz often made many mistakes and had to be replaced with new player.

David Luiz’s poor performance was again seen when Arsenal were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City in the Premier League. In addition to rewarding a penalty to City, Luiz also received a red card made Arsenal played with only 10 players.

It was not the first time David Luiz performed poorly in the Arsenal defense and also in important matches. However, after the match ended Mikel Arteta still saw him as an important player and commander of the team’s back line.

Ray Parlor could not understand why Arteta still retained David Luiz, moreover his contract would expire at the end of this season. According to Parlor, it would be nice if Arsenal release him and look for another defender.

“His age is no longer young. It depends on what kind of money he wants. I am sure he has a very good contract at Arsenal like the way they get him, so he will not get less money,” Parlor told TalkSPORT.

“I think he said he wanted a two-year contract too. This is a big decision that Arsenal must make. If I were Arsenal I would say no.”

“He had some good matches when I was there at the Emirates at certain times, but for me he made too many mistakes at the wrong time in the game and he didn’t learn from them.”

“As I said when he comes he will make mistakes and he will harm you but that is why they brought him to give them a little experience. I have heard he was a great kid around the players’ dressing room.”

According to Parlor it is time for Arsenal to invest in a young defender or better defender than David Luiz.

“He is a fantastic leader and his career is very good. You see the medal he won, the Champions League. He was very successful in England. I just think it’s time for Arsenal to say no (giving a new contract to Luiz),” added Parlor.

“That is not the way we want to go down, we have to develop, even if you bring more young people or try and bring center back. Defending is an art and you have to learn it from a young age,” he concluded.
