Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Beware of Threats from Everton

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Duncan Ferguson’s Everton could trouble Manchester United in the continuation of Premier League action. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is worried about that.

Man United tried to maintain momentum by looking for a fourth successive win when against Everton. But, the visitors are also rising under the care of the legend who replaced Marco Silva.

Everton’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Goodison Park is proof. In that match, Everton did the highest number of tackles in one match compared to the opposing teams. In a short time, Ferguson was able to transmit his passion or enthusiasm to play into the Everton squad.

That is of particular concern to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Man United’s manager. Solskjaer is wary of Everton who can play spartan like a fighter character owned by Ferguson.

“I believe they (Everton) came here (Old Trafford) with the same amount of confidence (as against Chelsea) and tried to make the situation difficult for us,” Solskjaer said, quoted by the Guardian.

“They experienced a big revival with a new manager last weekend. Duncan Ferguson is 100 percent action and passion as a player. I have no doubt he stays like that as a manager, but we will stand up for ourselves. We need three points because right now far behind,” he stressed.

Man United have bitter memories from last season when against Everton. United was slaughtered with a landslide 0-4 score at Goodison Park and the result made the players’ mentality decline towards the end of the season. But, Solskjaer was quite certain the situation this time was different.

“We definitely lost at Everton last season. We had enough to talk about what happened the other day and how we looked as a team. It was moving, more or less, but we are not that group anymore,” said Solskjaer.

“There is a different mentality at this time, this group is ready to fight. We are heading in the right direction at the moment and you are not playing here if you don’t want to join in,” he concluded.

Man United have good capital at entertaining Everton at Old Trafford. In 26 Premier League matches for the two teams at Old Trafford, Everton has only won once (lost 20 and drawn five). Their last win occurred in 2013.
