Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Was Not Completely Satisfied When MU Defeat Aston Villa
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, admitted that he was not completely satisfied after the Red Devils won the victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
In a match that took place at Old Trafford, Saturday (2/1), Manchester United won by a narrow score of 2-1. However, Aston Villa gave fierce resistance almost throughout the match.
Anthony Martial broke the deadlock in the 40th minute. His header took advantage of a cross that Emiliano Martinez could not stop, who actually appeared nicely.
Aston Villa was able to equalize in the second half to be precise in the 58th minute. Bertrand Traore found David De Gea’s goal from close range.
But Manchester United got a windfall three minutes later after the referee awarded a penalty after a foul on Paul Pogba in the forbidden box. Bruno Fernandes, who ran as the executor, successfully beat Martinez even though the direction of his shot was able to be read.
Ahead of the match ended, Aston Villa had a number of opportunities to equalize. This is what makes Solskjaer less satisfied.
“I didn’t enjoy the last ten minutes, we should have played the game in a better way while winning, it was like a final. We didn’t stop crosses well enough, but made some blocks and saves,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.
Aston Villa did perform quite well in this match. Dean Smith’s team proved to be reckoned with this season.
But Solskjaer did not forget to praise the performance of his own care team. He considered that the Red Devils continued to develop in every match.
“We have improved so just have to keep working and developing as a team. I think the league and this season will be very tight,” he added.
The victory over Aston Villa has made Manchester United now collect 33 points. This amount is the same as that collected by Liverpool, who are still at the top of the standings because of superior goal difference.
