Opportunity for CR7 to Sign a New Contract at Manchester United

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Up until now, Cristiano Ronaldo is still rumored to be leaving yesterday, but in fact he is now still at Manchester United.

Though rumor of the 37-year-old player’s departure is widely circulating, following the disappointment of Ronaldo, who reportedly saw Man United not being ambitious with passive movements in the 2022 summer transfer market.

Moreover, until now Ronaldo did not follow the Man United pre-season tour directed by Erik ten Hag in Australia. Rumors linked the five-time Ballon d’Or winner with Chelsea to Bayern Munich, but both clubs politely rejected Ronaldo.

Even the issue of returning to Real Madrid rose to the surface but there was no movement from his former club. No doubt there is a big chance for Ronaldo to stay and Ten Hag actually sees the potential for Ronaldo to sign a new contract.

“I was informed that he also has a choice, right? Yes (Ronaldo can last more than this season), but to be honest, of course I have signed a contract here for three years, but in football it is also short term. We have to win from the start. So I don’t see that far,” said Ten Hag

“I have a strategy, it’s a process, it takes time, but in the end we have to make sure from the start there is a winning team.”

Ronaldo, despite being 37 years old last season, was Man United’s top scorer with 24 goals. Although he is currently not on a pre-season tour and fears that he will not be able to adapt to Ten Hag’s playing style, the manager is not worried.

“I think Cristiano is capable of doing that (adapting in Ten Hag’s game),” added Ten Hag.

“In his career, he has shown everything. I have set my request. We want to play a certain way. A top player can contribute and Ronaldo is definitely a top player in our squad.”

“The players dictate the way you play. Especially players who score goals because it is very important for a team. You build your team around them,” explains Ten Hag.
