Origi Uses International Break to Determine His Future at Liverpool
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool striker Divock Origi used March’s international break to study his potential destination, AC Milan.
According to Calciomercato, the 26-year-old has spoken to AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers about life at the San Siro.
The report claims that the Rossoneri are working on a deal to sign the Belgium international in the summer. Origi’s contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season. Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Reds have no plans to award him a new contract.
Liverpool signed the Belgian forward from French side LOSC Lille in 2014 for £10 million while Brendan Rodgers was still in charge of the Reds.
It is understood the striker is keen to take on a new challenge, having played a minor role for Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent years.
The 26-year-old has failed to find regular playing time this season and his role was closed in January following the arrival of Luis Diaz from FC Porto. He has made just 14 appearances in all competitions this season and has made just five starts despite none in the Premier League.
Despite his lack of playing time, the 26-year-old still has pretty impressive stats with five goals and three assists in just 533 first team minutes.
Reports from Calciomercato state that the Belgian has given the green light towards a free transfer to join Milan in the summer.
