Owen doubts Manchester United can win the title

DBasia.news – English football legend, Michael Owen, expressed his opinion regarding Manchester United’s competition with Liverpool at the top of the standings. Owen doubts Manchester United will end the season with a title.
Manchester United’s positive trend continues. Facing Aston Villa, The Red Devils won 2-1.
An additional three points has made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad overshadow the league leader, Liverpool. The two teams both collected 33 points.
However, Owen thinks Manchester United is not good enough to become champions. The Red Devils still have some weaknesses that need to be fixed.
“To be honest, I don’t think Manchester United can win the title,” Owen told Premier League Productions.
“I think they are a team with a brilliant counter-attack against a bigger and better team. Man United are performing extraordinarily and can cause problems to anyone,” he continued.
“I saw them a few days ago and there was no chance. However, listen, they have a great mix and there is no question.”
According to Owen, Manchester United’s struggle to win the Premier League will be tougher than Liverpool and Manchester City. Moreover, Man United are often inconsistent.
“They are in second place and lost on goal difference. However, are they a complete team like Liverpool or Manchester City?” asked Owen.
“I think they are still one step behind. I think they will face an uphill battle to win titles. However, with the way they play, anything is possible.”
Next, Manchester United will challenge Manchester City in the semifinals of the English League Cup on Thursday (7/1). Then, David de Gea and his team mates have been waiting for Watford in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday (10/1).
