Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to score goals after starting to feel comfortable with his new position at Liverpool

DBasia.news – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is enjoying playing in a new position with Liverpool. He also wanted to get used to being a goalscorer.

Liverpool played against Hertha Berlin at Tivoli Neu, Friday (30/7/2021) in a test match. The Reds in this meeting had to lose 3-4 even though they had forced the score to draw 2-2 in the first half.

The only goal Liverpool scored in the second half came from Oxlade-Chamberlain. The former Arsenal player grabbed the rebound ball from Virgil van Dijk’s header.

In this match, Oxlade-Chamberlain played as a winger. The position tends to be new for Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has been struggling more as a midfielder.

If I play more often in that position, I think my main thing is to contribute goals,” said Oxlade-Chamberlain as quoted from Liverpool’s official website.

“I felt we created a lot in and around that area and even when I played in midfield in that position, a little bit more advanced, I felt like I could score goals.”

“That’s something I definitely want to bring to the team if I play there. So up front is good.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain saw that Liverpool made a lot of mistakes in this match. The Reds must be able to immediately make improvements and appear consistent.

“There were good and bad. I thought we controlled the game well and played good football, but obviously in important moments we made some mistakes and weren’t good enough,” he stated.

“They are a good team and they punished us. There are some good things to take but we have to be more consistent during the game and be tougher as we approach the season, I think that’s the main thing.”
