Paul Scholes Assess Manchester United Made a Blunder for Letting Go Romelu Lukaku

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, criticized the club’s policy of releasing Romelu Lukaku without bringing in a replacement.

Scholes actually did not object if Man United really planned to release Lukaku. However, what he was concerned about was the Red Devils letting Lukaku go without looking for a suitable replacement. According to him, it was a big mistake.

The British player actually saw the irony in the Man United camp today. As when the Red Devils were handled by a former attacker, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and tried to play an attacking style, they actually had no striker.

So far, Solskjaer used to place Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford alternately as center attackers. Nevertheless, according to Scholes, the two players were not pure striker figures like Lukaku. He looked at Rashford and Martial as winger who played widely.

“That is one thing that disappointed me. He (Solskjaer) clearly knew that they were going to sell Lukaku, but did not have a central attacker as a substitute, that seemed to me to be a mistake. Whether they have been working on it, whether it’s taking too long from the club’s perspective, I don’t know, “Scholes said, quoting from Talk Sport.

“They entered the season without a center forward when it was a club known for its attacking style and probably had four central attackers in their prime.  “So to go there with Rashford and Martial, where you are unsure whether they are left-wing or center-forward, we don’t know,” Scholes continued.
