By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, reveals the story of his past as a player. Scholes said that he had turned down Inter Milan’s offer while he was playing at Euro 2000 with the England national team.
“I never knew there was a club that wanted me. I was once called by agent Bryan Robson. He called me at Euro 2000 and asked if I was interested in joining Inter Milan, and after that I never knew the sequel and the manager never said anything to me, “Scholes said as quoted by The Sun.
The English player continued “I played in my childhood club. I’m a Manchester person, we always achieve trophies here. If the manager doesn’t want me anymore, I will definitely head to a big club that wants me. And not once thinking of Barcelona, Real Madrid or AC Milan as I was already in the biggest club in the world.
In addition, Scholes also acknowledged his regret for early retirement from the England national team.
“I had a young family at the time and went to play with England for 10 days sometimes up to 6 weeks in the summer, this was not ideal and I did not enjoy it. I regret leaving the England national team too soon. “I returned to United and my football changed,” Scholes stated.
Paul Scholes played with Manchester United more than 700 times and won 11 Premier League titles.
