Paulo Dybala’s possibility of missing the 2022 World Cup
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Paulo Dybala was seen crying after sustaining an injury to his left thigh while taking a penalty in AS Roma’s match against Lecce.
In a match wher Roma won 2-1, Dybala’s 48th-minute penalty resulted in a goal for his team, but he had to be withdrawn not long after.
After the disbandment, Roma coach, Jose Mourinho told DAZN: “I said [this injury] is bad, but I think it is worse,” he said.
“I’m not a doctor, but in my experience, and after speaking with Paulo, it’s unlikely we’ll see him in action again this year.”
With this injury, Dybala will most likely miss the 2022 World Cup, which will be held one month from now.
This news is certainly frustrating as the 28-year-old star is in good form, as he has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 11 appearances for Roma in all competitions.
With the injury confirmed by the coach, Dybala will then undergo a recovery process that will take time. The Argentina international player should also be tolerant to see his compatriots compete in Qatar.
