Paulo Fonseca’s Comments After Roma’s 4-2 win over Sassuolo

DBasia.news –  The first victory was won by Paulo Fonseca, coach of AS Roma, with his new team in the 2019-20 season.

The Giallorossi beat Sassuolo 4-2 thanks to a stunning first-half performance, which put his team 4-0 up – thanks to goals from Bryan Cristante, Edin Dzeko, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Justin Kluivert.

“I hope this will be the first of many victories,” Fonseca said.

“Today we showed our ability to play high pressing and we scored four goals, maybe even seven or eight goals were created. We fought a very good team, who controlled the ball well.”   

“So far, the match against Sassuolo is our best performance. Sassuolo did not create many opportunities. Yes, they scored two goals, but our team defended well. ”

Comments on Edin Dzeko’s performance tonight?

“Dzeko is an amazing player – he is very important to us. He is motivated, scores very good goals and can create even more goals – he is a top player.”

Lorenzo Pellegrini created three assists today by playing more forward.   

“We made some changes to the team – Pellegrini played more forward. With [Jordan] Veretout and [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan in the team, we are better at controlling the ball. I must say that all the players performed very well tonight.
