By db-admin
DBasia.news – The midfielder for the Spanish national team, Pedri, spoke after his team was held by Sweden without a goal on matchday 1 of Group E of the 2020 European Cup, at Estadio de La Cartuja, Tuesday (15/6). Pedri felt happy and sad at the same time.
The Spanish national team appeared to dominate against Sweden. La Furia Roja recorded possession of the ball up to 86 percent. Meanwhile, Spain also fired 17 shots.
However, these statistics do not mean much because no goals were created. Spain had to settle for one point in the first game at Euro 2020.
For Pedri, the duel against Sweden was special because it was his debut in an international tournament. Unfortunately, he could not color the first match with a win.
“I’m happy to make my debut. It was a dream. However, I’m sad because we drew. In fact, we created many opportunities,” said Pedri in an interview after the match with Marca.
Pedri didn’t just fly the white flag. The midfielder is confident a goal for Spain will come soon.
“If we keep playing like this, having the ball and creating chances, the goals will come.”
“I ask the Spanish fans to continue to believe in us. Because we are a great team,” said the midfielder.
Next, the Spanish national team will challenge Poland, at the Estadio de La Cartuja, Sunday (20/6). Poland was slumped because of the 2-1 defeat of Slovakia.
