Pep Guardiola doesn’t want to be big-headed on the Champions League final

DBasia.news – Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, did not want to be arrogant regarding his team’s chances of qualifying for the final. Guardiola assessed that his team’s chances were still a mystery.

Manchester City has a lot of capital in the 2020-2021 Champions League semi-final second leg, at the Etihad Stadium, Wednesday (5/5). In the first leg, The Citizens won 2-1.

However, Pep Guardiola thinks everything can still happen. One thing he emphasized was asking his team to play with focus.

“I want to feel that we have learned from mistakes. However, I do not know how we will respond. It is always a mystery,” said Guardiola as reported by Sky Sports.

“The good part of our job is the great uncertainty. Indeed it is disappointing. However, we always give you another opportunity, another challenge,” added the coach.

This is the closest Guardiola has stepped to advancing to the Champions League final with Manchester City. Previously, The Citizens’ best record was the quarter-finals.

“I want to say, yes, we have learned from that defeat. However, maybe tomorrow we will play badly. I do not think like that, but we could have performed badly and failed to head the final,” stated Guardiola.

“One thing I am thinking about at the moment is to have a great match and reach the final. If not better, I will congratulate the opponent. However, I feel we will do well.”

Manchester City have been unbeaten in their last four meetings against Paris Saint-Germain in European competition. The result is two wins and two draws.
