Pep Guardiola: Transfer Completed for Manchester City
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Pep Guardiola does not expect any more players to enter and leave Manchester City as the transfer deadline approaches.
The Citizens lack a striker after failing to bring in their main target, Harry Kane, from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 2021/22 Premier League champions have also halted their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been confirmed to have left Juventus and returned to Manchester United.
A number of players, including Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte, have been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, but Guardiola will have the same squad once the transfer deadline closes on Tuesday.
Asked about the possibility of players leaving at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal, Guardiola said: “At the moment I don’t think so, but maybe it will happen.”
“Anything can happen, but in my opinion, everything will end as it is now and that’s good enough.”
City are used to finalizing transfer matters early in the window, but there are still opportunities outside of a late deal.
“I do not know what will happen. It is a mystery. The transfer window this season is very strange,” said Guardiola again.
“There is a big problem, English teams have made one or two signings. Maybe the rumors are that Real Madrid will do something and the rest I don’t know.”
