DBasia.news –  Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, gave a firm response to the accusation of Chinese media, Xinhua, which accused The Citizens of only being concerned with the commercial side when conducting preseason tours there.

“Great love from supporters of Manchester City did not get a reply at home,” Xinhua opened.

“The Premier League champions performing in China are no more than commercial obligations, less enthusiastic, and don’t care about the host public, different from other teams.”

“Today, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers left China with respect and got new supporters. Manchester City left China without both,” said Xinhua.

Guardiola immediately responded to the accusation firmly during a press conference in Hong Kong. According to him, the squad of his team has been very professional in carrying out their duties on and off the playing field.

“I disagree and that (the accusation from Xinhua) is false. To make a statement like that, they must know exactly what has happened here at our club,” Guardiola said.

“I have been fascinated by my players so far and let’s see the rest of the tour together. I completely disagree with journalists – not that fact. We are committed to the cooperation you have to do here in China.”

“People from the hotel, all people ask us to do things that are ready for us to do. Off the field, we show how great our club is and how we try better every season.”

“I am very proud of what we did – the entire marketing department, all the people who arranged this tour, and maybe, next year or within two years we will return to China when the club decides we must come,” explained Guardiola.
