DBasia.news – The Croatian national team received unfortunate news ahead of the duel against Spain in the 16th round of Euro 2020. Ivan Perisic had to be absent as he tested positive for Covid-19.
The Croatia-Spain match will take place at Parken Stadium, Monday (28/6) at 23.00 WIB. Both teams have an equal chance of advancing to the quarter-finals.
Perisic is confirmed to be absent due to being positive with the corona virus (COVID-19). He will now have to self-isolate for the next ten days.
“In the evening, the Croatian Football Association received the results of a regular test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which showed that member of the national team, Ivan Perisic, has tested positive for coronavirus,” the Croatian football federation said in a statement.
“Perisic will spend 10 days in self-isolation and in that period he will not be playing with the Croatian national team.”
The strength of Croatia and Spain is quite balanced. Moreover, both teams have not shown maximum performance.
Perisic’s absence is certainly a big loss for Croatia. The Inter Milan player has always scored in the last two matches.
But Croatia must immediately find a solution to the absence of Perisic. If not, it is possible that their journey at Euro 2020 will have to stop.
