Pirlo Successfully Passed the First Challenge to Determine His Future at Juventus

DBasia.news – Maximum results was achieved by Juventus when they host Spezia in the continuation of Serie A 2020-2021. Andrea Pirlo successfully passed the first test of three crucial matches in the next week to maintain his position as manager.
In a match that took place at Allianz Stadium, Juventus won by a landslide score of 3-0. The three goals were scored by Alvaro Morata (62 ‘), Federico Chiesa (71’), and Cristiano Ronaldo (89 ‘).
An additional three points again opened the opportunity for Juventus to defend the Scudetto. The Bianconeri are now only seven points behind the leaders of the standings, Inter Milan.
The victory against Spezia also temporarily secured Pirlo’s position. The 41 year old coach is indeed in danger of being fired if Juventus reap minor results.
Understandably Pirlo appeared relieved to welcome this victory. Moreover, Juventus had difficulty dismantling Spezia’s defense during the first half.
“The slow start is more physical than psychological. “It can happen when you have so many games with the same players,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia.
“We tried to control the game and then when the fresh legs came we were sharper and able to take our chances.”
Praise to Morata and Bernardeschi
The match against Spezia is indeed proof of Pirlo’s quality as a coach. The substitution he did was the key to Juventus’ victory.
Juventus’ opener was scored by Morata just one minute after the Spanish forward came on as a substitute. Federico Bernardeschi, who made an assist, has also recently been introduced.
After the goal, Juventus’ play seemed more fluid. No wonder Pirlo praised the two supersubs.
“Bernardeschi has what it takes to be a full-back. He has good stamina, able to cross passes and has done his role, although it is clear he needs to improve his defense, “added Pirlo.
“While Morata is a player we want because of his characteristics, because he can attack space, score goals, but also play with the team. It’s a shame he’s been absent a lot lately, but hopefully he can make a full recovery soon. “
The victory against Spezia is a valuable asset for Juventus to look at two other crucial matches. The Old Lady will host Lazio in Serie A this weekend and have a life and death duel against FC Porto in the Champions League three days later.
