Pogba Targets a Clean Sweep of Victory with Manchester United
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United’s draw when they traveled to Southampton headquarters made Paul Pogba very disappointed. He has a target to wipe out the victory.
In the second match of the Premier League 2021-2022 which took place at St, Mary’s Stadium, Sunday (22/8), the two teams drew 1-1. This result makes Manchester United step down from the top of the standings.
Pogba actually performed quite well in this match. The French midfielder even recorded an assist for Manchester United’s single goal scored by Mason Greenwood.
The assist was Pogba’s fifth in the first two games of the season. He became the first person to do so in Premier League history.
It didn’t stop there, this draw also extended Manchester United’s unbeaten run in away games to 27 matches. The Old Trafford camp equaled Arsenal’s nicks.
But the two records were greeted coldly by Pogba. He doesn’t seem to care about this achievement.
“It (the record) is always amazing, but I’d rather win the league and not have a record,” Pogba told MUTV.
“Next time what we want to record is to win away and not draw when we know we can win this game. We learn from here, stay positive and we go again.”
Pogba again plays an important role as one of Manchester United’s key players. His combination with Bruno Fernandes became the main weapon for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team to score goals.
With one year remaining on his contract, this season could be Pogba’s last chance to present the Premier League trophy to Manchester United. This title has not been achieved for almost a decade.
“I always give my best on the pitch. So we have to keep it up, keep improving and I want to win. That’s why I am disappointed with the result.”
