Praises for Chelsea after signing Wesley Fofana

DBasia.news – Chelsea have received an abundance of praise after reportedly having reached an agreement to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.
The Blues are prepared to spend around 70 million pounds to sign the 21-year-old player from the Foxes, making the defender the third most expensive defender in the world.
Former Leicester star Gary Lineker also regretted Fofana’s departure from the club, but he also gave credit to Chelsea for signing the Frenchman.
“It’s sad to lose him, but I hope Wesley is okay. Every player wants to play in the Champions League, so that’s understandable,” Lineker wrote on his personal social media.
“Chelsea fans, you have the most talented young centre-back in the world. Yes, I believe he is that good.”
Meanwhile, former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin said that Fofana was the right answer for Chelsea’s defense, which had lost its two main pillars, Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona.
Despite having brought in Kalidou Koulibaly, the Blues still need another central defender to add strength to their back line, and Fofana’s presence is considered to be appropriate.
“Chelsea need a centre-back and won’t be competitive if they don’t get him,” Nevin said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Fofana is a great answer. Chelsea’s need may have added 10 million pounds to the price tag, but Chelsea need to add that.”
Former Chelsea goalkeeper Rob Green added: “They caught up and have to pay for it. They are going to get a great player. He ‘checked the box’ straight away and is also one of the players for the future.”
“Reece James’ quality is on the ball. Fofana not only fills in at centre-back, but strengthens in other areas as James can calmly attack.”
