PSG Put Mbappe’s Price on Par with Neymar
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) rejected Real Madrid’s offer of 160 million euros for Kylian Mbappe. So how much is the 22-year-old striker?
The price offered by Madrid is certainly very good. Especially with the condition of Mbappe whose contract only has one year remaining.
But PSG have their own considerations in selling their star. Les Parisiens wanted a higher price than when they bought it.
“Madrid’s official offer is very far from what we wanted for Mbappe. Yes, around 160 million. That’s less than what we paid to sign Mbappe in 2017,” said PSG sporting director Leonardo.
For information, PSG brought PSG from AS Monaco on loan in the summer of 2017. The French giants only made his status permanent a season ago for a fee of 180 million euros.
From Leonardo’s statement, Mbappe’s price is now above 180 million euros. This will certainly make it difficult for other clubs to bring Mbappe.
According to Le Parisien’s report, Mbappe’s current price is around 220 million euros. PSG is believed to not be holding the striker up if there is to make up for it at that fee.
The problem is, Madrid’s financial strength is doubtful to meet PSG’s demands. Moreover, the transfer market will close in less than a week.
A price of 220 million euros would put Mbappe on par with Neymar. The Brazilian star was brought to the Parc des Princes for a fee of 222 million euros in the summer of 2017.
Until now, Neymar still holds the record for the most expensive transfer in the world. It’s hard to see a player breaking it anytime soon.
