Rafael Leao admits it’s harder to face Reece James
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Rafael Leao, the AC Milan forward, has revealed that he has more trouble facing Chelsea defender, Reece James than Liverpool star, Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Leao has faced both players, with Milan this season in the same group as Chelsea in the Champions League, while he faced TAA in the UCL group stage last season.
With the Portugal international’s position as a left winger, it is clear that he often faces one on one with the two right-backs.
And he has his own assessment of the strength of James and Alexander-Arnold.
“James is a good player. He is around me and everywhere at the same time. He manages his timing well,” Leao told Somtosport.
“I hardly talk about opposing players, but I think this player is actually the most challenging I’ve ever faced.”
“He also scored against us and that’s something you don’t get from every defender.”
Furthermore, Leao also discussed Milan’s chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League, where they are currently third in Group E behind RB Salzburg and Chelsea.
He is ambitious in taking the Rossoneri to the last 16 and has encouraged his team-mates to give their best in the remaining matches.
“We just have to focus and finish in a good position now because the competition is definitely not going to be easy.”
“We slipped and we won’t let that hold us back, we will work harder for the next game.”
