Raheem Sterling Wins in 300th Match

DBasia.news – Manchester City maintain the momentum to continue to stick to Chelsea in the hunt for the Premier League title. In Week 12 of the Premier League against Everton at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (21/11), City won with a score of 3-0.

The reigning Premier League champions are too strong for Rafael Benitez’s Everton. The hosts had a 78 per cent advantage on the ball, having 17 shots and seven of them on target (three goals).

Three goals for Pep Guardiola’s Citizens came from Raheem Sterling (44′), Rodri (55′) and Bernardo Silva (86′). Man City is now in second place in the standings with 26 points, three points adrift of Chelsea who topped the standings.

The win was also special for Sterling. The 26-year-old is playing in his 300th Premier League game and with that goal, Sterling has now scored 98 goals, provided 51 assists and has won three league titles.

At just 26 years 348 days, Sterling is the fourth youngest player to reach 300 Premier League games after Wayne Rooney, James Milner and Gareth Barry. His goals and great performances are positive things for Sterling, who has rarely played this season.

“So far the situation has not been good for him (Sterling) but he showed his character today. He has become an important player for the club in recent years. We need him,” said City midfielder Rodri.

“I am very happy and happy for him. He deserves it. He has trained very well this week,” he added.

An interesting fact from that match is that now Bernardo Silva has also been involved in 50 Premier League goals for Man City, with a record of 25 goals and 25 assists. City have conceded only six goals from the last 12 games, the second lowest in a season City have conceded at this stage.

Lineup:

Man City (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Joao Cancelo; Cole Palmer, Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan; Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva.

Everton(4-4-1-1): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Ben Godfrey, Michael Keane, Lucas Digne; Anthony Gordon, Fabian Delph, Allan, Demarai Gray; Andros Townsend; Richardson.
