Ralf Rangnick is wary of Leeds United’s game

DBasia.news – Manchester United will play an away match to Elland Road Stadium, Sunday (20/2) night WIB. There Manchester United will challenge their rivals Leeds United.

In addition to having a history of rivalry, the duel will have an important meaning for Manchester United. The Red Devils must not drop points to keep their chances of finishing in the top four and earn a ticket to the Champions League at the end of the season.

On the opposite side, Leeds United were also required to win points to stay away from the red zone. Leeds are currently in 15th place, six points clear of the relegation area.

Since being handled by Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds is known to have a distinctive style of play with a high tempo full of energy. Ahead of the game, Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick said Leeds United had a special way of playing.

Rangnick explained, Leeds United has two special aspects. They are special in making quick transitions and are oriented towards one-on-one guarding.

“On the one hand, they tried to play fast transition football, when they were in possession, every time they passed the ball to another player they tried to increase the tempo of the game. The other thing is they are very one-on-one oriented,” explained Rangnick.

The manager continued, “Leeds is probably a team that plays a lot of momentum coupled with speed and tempo, and Manchester United must not let that happen.

This season, Leeds is the club with the worst conceded record. Rangnick certainly wants his team to take advantage of this as momentum, remembering that MU has lately had difficulty breaking into the opponent’s goal.

“This is probably a team that plays with high momentum, speed and tempo. For us, it’s important not to let them play like that,” stated Rangnick.

“On the other hand, they have conceded a lot of goals. Outside of Norwich, they are a team with a high conceding rate. I think we have prepared well for this game we will try to prepare the team to play for 90-94 minutes and stick to the plan.”
