Ralf Rangnick still believes in Marcus Rashford

DBasia.news – Marcus Rashford is one of the stars of Manchester United whose performance has drawn a lot of criticism. Even so, he still has the full support of Ralf Rangnick as the manager of the Red Devils.

Rashford’s performance declined dramatically after undergoing shoulder surgery last summer. Having been out for some time, the 24-year-old striker has only scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 15 matches in all competitions this season.

The record is certainly far from the public’s expectations for Rashford. He is considered as one of the best young strikers in Europe.

One of Rashford’s bad performances was presented when Manchester United met Aston Villa in the FA Cup, in the middle of last week. He appeared subpar and lazy.

Rashford’s performance certainly disappointed Rangnick. Moreover, he saw the number 10 player perform well during practice.

Even so, Rangnick does not doubt the quality of Rashford. The German tactician plans to continue to give him the opportunity to play.

“For a striker, it’s all about playing well, scoring goals and getting assists. If that doesn’t happen over a long period of time, it’s certainly not easy,” Rangnick said at a press conference ahead of the game against Aston Villa in the 2021-2022 Premier League.

“As long as he tries to give his best as he does in training, he will always be on my list to play and start.”

Rangnick’s Manchester United will meet Villa again. The difference is this match takes place at the opponent’s turf.

If demoted, this will be an opportunity for Rashford to perform better and respond to criticism. This will also make his position in the Manchester United core squad safer.
