Ralf Rangnick Talks About Manchester United’s Future Coach

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The search for a new manager for Manchester United is still in the news about the club that oversees the 20 Premier League titles. Because the current manager, Ralf Rangnick is only contracted until the end of the season and for the next two years fills an advisory role.

This season Man United only has two targets left: to stay in the Champions League as long as possible and win the Champions League spot in the Premier League.

With this focus Rangnick admits that he has not discussed anything with management for next season, including the potential for a new United manager. The focus is now on preparing the team as best as possible to finish the season well.

Rangnick is the seventh manager to take over since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. Previously there were David Moyes, Ryan Giggs, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick.

It is hoped that the next manager will be given time to develop United, as was the case with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Some time ago John Murtough, United’s sporting director, said the club was in the process of finding a new club manager but they had not discussed it with Rangnick.

The German has his opinion on the right person to coach United, but he hasn’t spoken to management yet.

“So far, we haven’t talked about it (the new Man United manager),” Rangnick told Sky Sports News.

“Not with John Murtough or anyone else, we haven’t discussed this topic in the last few weeks and months since I’ve been here. I know my opinion, but so far we haven’t talked about it, so that’s all I can tell you.”

Many names have been linked but only two are said to be favorites, namely Mauricio Pochettino (PSG) and Erik ten Hag (Ajax Amsterdam). Rangnick didn’t go into details, but he knows Ten Hag’s performance at Ajax.

“I don’t know him as a person, but I’ve seen how Ajax have developed since he’s been there,” Rangnick added.

“I know about the work he did when he was at Bayern Munich and obviously he is one of the top coaches in Europe but there are several others.

“We haven’t spoken about the new manager so far and therefore we haven’t spoken about him.”
