Rangnick asks Manchester United to purchase De Jong

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United’s new manager, Ralf Rangnick, is reportedly starting to strategize for the upcoming transfer window. The 63-year-old man has asked the management of the Red Devils to bring in Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong.

Ralf Rangnick’s debut as Manchester United manager was ideal. Hosting Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, the Red Devils won 1-0.

Even so, Rangnick was not complacent. He realized, Manchester United still had a lot of homework to improve. One of them is adding quality in the second line.

According to El Nacional’s report, Rangnick is targeting Frenkie de Jong to be brought in in the 2022 winter transfer market. The coach has long admired the Dutch midfielder. Moreover, De Jong is a player who has shone since a young age.

Currently, De Jong’s condition at Barcelona is encountering some oblique issues. Reportedly, the arrival of Xavi Hernandez actually had a bad influence on the midfielder’s career. Xavi is reported to have more faith in Barcelona’s young players such as Gavi and Nico Gonzalez.

Therefore, De Jong’s playing time is predicted to shrink. It is also believed that the player will open the door to leave if this situation occurs.

Meanwhile, it is believed that Barcelona will not object in selling De Jong. The money from the sale of De Jong can be reinvested to purchase new ammunition, especially in the striker position.

Currently, the 24-year-old midfielder is still under contract until June 2026. Transfermarkt estimates Frenkie de Jong’s value to reach 90 million euros.
